Sweet Sun Tea
Ingredients:
1 Large Jar with Lid
1 Medium Jar with Lid
1 Cup of Sugar
1 Tbls of Honey
2 cups of Water
1 cup Fruit of choice (Blueberry, Strawberry, Orange…etc)
8 cups of Water
8 tea bags of your favorite black tea
Strainer, Cheese Cloth, Slotted Spoon
Start in the Morning
To your large jar add 8 cups of water, then add 8 tea bags.
If using loose leaf tea just add enough tea to a strainer for 8 cups of tea.
Close the lid tight to keep out critters, place in your sunniest area for 4 hours minimum (or forget you put it outside, go about your day and finish the recipe later)
Simple Syrup
To your smaller jar, add 1 cup of whatever fruit you choose and muddle or squish to get some juice out. Then add 1 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 2 cups of water. Screw the lid on tight and put next to tea jar for same amount of time. If you want your tea to taste sweeter, to every 1 cup of sugar add 2 cups of water.
Finished!
I love making this tea with my kids because it is so easy to make and it is a great conversation starter for how the sun can work for us! Today I enjoyed it over a glass of ice, paired with one of the reusable ice packs from the Do Better & Co. store. Recovering from wisdom teeth removal has been much easier with my 2 favorite things, sweet tea and icepacks! Let me know if you make it and how you like to enjoy it!
